Certification Programs and Competitions

The Certificate Advancement Program is a graded examination program in eleven levels for string students, which measures
technical progress and musical development. Upon successful completion of the annual exam, a student is awarded a
Certificate of Achievement by ASTA and MTAC, the nation's largest organization for string teachers and Music Teachers.
An in-person and online state evaluation is an event that is organized, advertised, and coordinated by an individual state chapter. 
All information will be collected by the state chapter organizer and record of the student’s participation will be sent to the
National Office along with a fee. An attending certified, professional evaluator will listen, write comments, and award
certificates on the day of the exam.

COMPETITONS 
Competitions provide a platform for our students to showcase their talent and dedication to musical excellence. We believe that participating in competitions not only hones performance skills but also fosters personal growth and resilience. Our students have consistently achieved success in prestigious competitions such as the Yvonne La Mothe Schwager, ASTA, SJYS, and National Harp Competitions, demonstrating their commitment to artistic achievement and musical advancement.
Through rigorous preparation and guidance from our experienced faculty, students gain invaluable experience in stage presence, repertoire mastery, and artistic interpretation. Competitions at our academy are not just about winning awards; they serve as transformative experiences that inspire our students to reach new heights in their musical journey.

Kristal Schwartz directs Bay Area Harp Foundation Youth Harp Ensemble.
Learning with other harpists in the youth harp ensemble led by conductor, Kristal Schwartz, is a fun and excellent opportunity to grow as a musician. Student musicians gain proficiency in ensemble techniques — learning to listen and follow each other, watching the conductor, and understanding the responsibilities of performing as a team.

Outreach and Community Service 

Bay Area Harp and Music Academy encourages all educators and students to give back to the community. We help students with their community service house and find creative ways to serve the community. Master Classes and School Programs

Valley Christian Schools, Ocean Grove, Harker and more. Our educators and students help bring music awareness to schools around the Bay Area.  Our Educators have developed many school programs of the decades of their teaching and work with teachers and the state to provide quality education for all.
