Full Circle: Returning to San José State University to Teach Harp
A little over twenty years ago, I walked onto the San José State University campus as a music student, excited and probably a bit nervous about where the harp would take me. If you had told me then that I’d be returning two decades later to lead the harp program, I’m not sure I would have believed you. That is why I am so incredibly proud to share that I have officially joined the faculty as the Harp Instructor at the SJSU School of Music. Coming back to my alma mater to build up the next generation of Bay Area harpists is deeply personal for me. SJSU gave me an incredible foundation, and my goal is to give that exact same rigorous, supportive mentorship back to our incoming students. Building the SJSU Harp Studio Whether you are looking to major in music or want to continue your harp studies as a non-major while pursuing another degree, we are actively expanding the studio to accommodate you. Our program is designed to prepare harpists for the modern musical world. Here is a quick look at what we are building at SJSU:
If you are a high school or transfer harpist looking for an affordable, top-tier music program right here in California, I would love to meet you. Applications for the Fall 2027 academic year open soon, and live auditions will take place in February 2027. If you are interested in auditioning, or if you just want to schedule a trial lesson to see if the studio is a good fit for you, please reach out! You can find my contact information on the SJSU Faculty Directory, or you can message me directly through the Bay Area Harp Academy. Let's get to work!
