Yirui Li - Professional Harpist DMA Dissertation: Yirui Li is a highly accomplished harpist based in Eugene, Oregon, with a profound dedication to her craft and an impressive educational background. She is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Harp Performance at the University of Oregon, where she also contributes as a coach and assistant instructor at the Community Music Institute. Her commitment to music education is evident in her efforts to teach students about the cultural influences in music, while also helping them develop their technical skills and appreciation for the arts. Yirui’s journey as a harpist began at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music in China, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Harp Performance. She then continued her studies in the United States, obtaining her Master of Music in Harp Performance from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Throughout her academic career, she has honed her skills under the guidance of esteemed teachers and has developed a deep understanding of the harp's rich musical heritage. In addition to her teaching experience, Yirui has a rich background in performance, having played with prestigious ensembles such as Orchestra Next, Skagit Symphony Orchestra, and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
